KB-2319 Forum Maintenance FAQ

Purpose

Appian Forum is a mission-critical site that contains functionality such as Support Case Management, Health Check processing, Account Management, and several other applications. When the site is down for maintenance functionality for these applications will be unavailable. This KB covers behaviors seen during Forum Maintenance and frequently asked questions.

What Do Customers Need to Know?

Appian Cloud Maintenance Windows

Appian Support will avoid scheduling maintenance windows during the time of Forum Maintenance. If maintenance must occur during a Forum Maintenance Window, please create a support case to discuss with Appian Support.

Support Cases

Issues normally reported in support cases will follow one of the following actions depending on if the issue is entitled to 24x7 support:

  • Customers subscribed to 24x7 support should contact support by phone and send an email to support@appian.com by a valid Appian Support contact for any assistance required during this time and Appian Support will assist. Phone numbers can be found on Appian Community.
  • Issues not entitled to 24x7 support will be requested to be reported via Forum after maintenance has completed.

Other MyAppian Functionality

Other MyAppian functionality will be unavailable during this time. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Health Check
  • Cloud Metrics
  • Self-Service functionality such as Health Check Password Reset, VPN configuration, and Certificate Management
  • Account Management

Customers should plan to complete any necessary actions before or after maintenance.

Health Check Submissions

As Health Check will not be available on Forum during this maintenance, Health Check submissions will fail as outlined in KB-1979. To account for this customers should either:

  • Reschedule or cancel Health Check runs to avoid submission during this time.
  • Re-run Health Check after maintenance completes.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will maintenance for Forum occur?

Planned maintenance for Forum is outlined in KB-2162 Appian Forum maintenance schedule. Additional ad-hoc maintenance may be performed as needed.

How are customers notified of Forum maintenance?

A notification will be posted on Appian Community in advance of the scheduled maintenance activity.
