Overview
This plugins allows to generate DOCX files from a DOCX template and an XML data model from Appian. It also allows to convert a DOCX into PDF through an opensource (with limited capabilities) library.

I have raised this issue with Appian Support, who advised me to log this here to inform the developer(s) so that a fix can be produced.
After upgrading to the latest version of this plugin (1.0.12), we found that PDF documents produced by the plugin were being generated with text that overlaps other text fields, making the document unreadable. We downgraded back to the previous version of the plugin (1.0.7) and found that this was no longer happening, therefore we can only assume that this is an issue within the latest plugin version. Could you please investigate and resolve?

We were forced to upgrade to the latest version 1.1.1 when we updated to Appian version 24.2 due to issues with the "DOCX Document From Template" Smart Service timing out and failing in the very old version we were on of the plugin. Once we upgraded the plugin, we then saw similar issues with the PDF generation and the formatting being overlapping and otherwise garbled. In our case we used the "DOCX Document From Template" Smart Service followed by the "PDF Document From DOCX" Smart Service.
A consultant developer working for us discovered we could replace the "PDF Document From DOCX" Smart Service with the "PDF from Single DOCX (with Fonts)" Smart Service from the "Dynamic Document Generator" plugin and everything has appeared to be working and formatting correctly for our particular use cases so far. However, we are on an old version of the dynamic document generator plugin (1.8.5) as well, for now, and have not yet risked an upgrade as we had tried an upgrade years ago of that plugin in the past, and it broke a lot of applications for other reasons, but we have not tried recently to upgrade it to the most recent version.
