  • Hi Roderick,

I talked internally and it looks like there is a section in the guide document of this plugin that notes:

"If you do not have access to the API module, you will receive the following error message: “Authentication error: user does not have access to this module.” Make sure that the authentication pattern you have selected has access to a role file that enables the user to make calls to the /openapi.json endpoint of the module (ClaimCenter /claims example) as well as whatever endpoint the integration will call."

It looks like the general idea is that the account this API is called with needs to have the suitable roles according to the documentation of Guidewire.

While we don't have a specific setup to guide you through, you'd likely need to review the Guidewire documentation on how to Assign API roles to callers as a first step.

I hope this helps to get you started with the troubleshooting.

  • Hi there,

I am wanting to use the Guidewire Connected System to connect to the Guidewire Policy Center API - Accounts API. We have a cloud instance of that and access works with a super user and basic auth. When I switch to StandAlove Service with OAth 2 Client Credentials Grant I get the error

Error 401; {userMessage=Authorization failed, errorCode=gw.api.modules.rest.framework.v1.plugin.security.InvalidUserContextHeaderException, developerMessage=Invalid GW-User-Context header, status=401}; Authentication error: user does not have access to this module.

I have a feeling we need to configure that service account somewhere in Guidewire to allow Accounts API calls.

If I switch from the Acocunts API to say an Admin API then a call works but for most of the modules I get either a 401 or a 404 error.

I have tried standalone service and Service with User Context.

    Any pointers would be great!

    Regards

    Roderick
