Marketplace

Overview

Zimpatica’s Marketplace application is an out-of-the-box solution for a company-wide online marketplace. Within the application users are able to post personal items for sale/free, make personalized recommendations to colleagues (i.e. baby stroller for sale), browse, follow and purchase items available on the Marketplace. The Marketplace can be used as a standalone site or configured into existing Appian sites as a linked report with relative ease. The Marketplace application provides an intrinsic benefit to anyone within the organization and will further encourage and facilitate the adoption of the Appian platform. The Marketplace boosts company culture by cultivating opportunities for employees to make new connections within their organization through increased cross-department communication. Additionally, the application exposes business units to interesting and unique ways to leverage the Appian platform for both direct and indirect benefits.

Key Features & Functionality

  • Add and Manage Listings: Users can list items they wish to sell or give away for free. Potential buyers can privately message the listers to negotiate or ask questions about the listings. Listers are also able to modify and mark their listings as sold.
  • Browse Listings: Users can search through the listings on the homepage using search filters. If a user wishes, they can save default search filters.
  • Recommend: Users can recommend listings with another user. When a listing is recommended, the listing is sent in an email to the user the listing was recommended to and it will also appear in their Recommended For You section of the application.
  • Comments: Listers can have multiple private conversation threads with potential buyers.
  • Follow Listings: Users are able to follow a listing. When a user follows a listing, they will receive email notifications every time the listing is modified and can easily find the listing by navigating to the Following section of the application.
  • Notifications: Email notifications are configured to notify listers and potential buyers of different forms of activity on a listing. Users are able to opt in or out of various email notifications in the preferences section of the application.
  • Front-End Reference Data Management: Admin Users are able to modify the Disclaimer, Listing Categories, and General Settings easily on the front-end of the application in Admin Settings.
  • Deactivate Listings: When a listing has not seen any recent activity for the deactivation amount of days set in the admin settings, the listing is deactivated and a deactivation notification email is sent out to the lister with instructions on how to reactivate their listing. Before a listing is deactivated, the user receives an inactive listing warning email.
