Sign PDF Document

This Smart Service allows you to digitally sign and/or certify a PDF document within a process.  Digital signatures establish authorship, ensure document integrity, and can replace time-consuming manual signature steps.

  • Can be used to sign documents uploaded by a user or generated by Appian
  • Supports JKS and PKCS#12 keystore types
  • Supports SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, and SHA-512 hash algorithms
  • Apply a digital signature to a visible signature field on the document
  • Include an electronic signature image when signing
  • Place a new signature field anywhere on the document
  • A password-protected keystore containing a valid private key is required to sign documents

See Adobe's website for more information on digital signatures in PDF documents: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/certificate-signatures.html

  • Wonder why this was deprecated...docuSign is pay per use and doesn't support PKI signature without additional configuration.  What if we just want to sign a PDF with an appian certificate and take the user's credentials to place some info in the signature field?  This seems like a slam dunk OOTB configuration....
