JBOSS error - Upgrade 16.2 to 16.3

The first error I see is 01:26:41,671 ERROR [stderr] (MSC service thread 1-4) log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.apache.commons.configuration.PropertiesConfiguration). Did you have a custom appian_log4j.properties file with 16.2? If so, make sure you are using the default 16.3 version, and get it started properly with that. Once that's up, try merging any logging config changes into the 16.3 version of the properties file

It looks like the cache-confix.xml file is missing... can you verify that is exists in: \\ear\\suite.ear\\web.war\\WEB-INF\\conf\\cache. If it is there, can you provide your standalone.xml file?

Can you check whether the start-suite.dodeploy.txt file is present or not.

In <APPIAN_HOME>/ear if the file name is "suite.ear.undeployed" or suite.ear.failed", please rename is to "suite.ear.dodeploy".

I am using the default appian_log4j.properties file. I can see the differences of the file in 16.3 from 16.2. I have verified cache.confix.xml is present. See attached for standalone and cache.config.xml.

Yes. Sowjanav I have it as suite.ear.dodeploy.

Did you unzip Jboss clean when you installed or copy it from previous dir? I recommend a clean unzip. If you copied it over, make sure you clear jboss cache (delete standalone/work and standalone/tmp dirs)

I did just copy the old JBOSS directory and deleted standalone/temp but didn't work. I also deployed repo JBOSS but no success. I will try unzipping JBOSS this afternoon.

Is it necessary that I delete the windows services I have for engines, search-server, & jboss running when I did the upgrade? I have the 16.3 install in the same directory as the old and the services start up fine jboss just errors out. The upgrade docs say to delete them. Also unzipped jboss and redeployed repo to no success. Same errors occur.

are there any configurations I'm missing that specify an old version? The setup we have is a dedicated webserver IIS 8, app server (running engines, search-server, & jboss), sql db.
