Looking for recommendations on the best way to go about letting a user print an editable grid.

I assume by print you mean exporting your editable grid to a word / pdf file.
Try using the plugin Advanced Document Templating. It has a PDF guide as well once you download the plugin.
It allows you to create tables, lists, etc.
