Hello All,
Recently we are experiencing in our server that we sometimes basic users are not able to login to server, We are getting below error. It is only working when we are adding that user to designer group:

Caused by: com.appiancorp.suiteapi.common.exceptions.AppianRuntimeException: com.appiancorp.security.authz.AuthorizationException: The user [TestUser] does not have sufficient privileges to perform the requested action because they are not in any role. (APNX-1-4188-001)

Make sure those users aren't trying to log in to /designer or /design. The log states that the entry point is PORTAL, so if they're only basic users, they should be going to Tempo or sites.

Hi Sandeep,
We have seen a similar issue on a support case so wanted to share the solution with you as well. By default all users created in Appian should be assigned to "Application Users" group using default rules. It may be possible that this was modified, so please try adding the user to "Application Users" instead of "Designers". This will allow basic users to access to site.
Thanks,
Rohith
