Has anyone been successful in connecting, specifically, an IBM iSeries AS/400 DB2 to Appian v7.x / JBoss 7.x???
We have established successful connection with Appian 6.x and JBoss 5.x, but have not been successful with the upgraded Appian and JBoss versions.

Out of interest did you manage to do the connection as a datastore or just via query node? We have an iSeries As/400 and have query but would like to be able to do this via datastore.

We have been successful with a datastore connection with Appian v6.x and JBoss v5.x, but have not been successful with datastore connection with new version.

Sorry for hijacking your post but would you mind sharing what steps were required to get it working with the datastore with 6.6.1. I would be very interested to see it.

Joel -- It's possible I can share some of our experience with you, however I don't want this thread to go down the wrong path. I really need to see if anyone out there has had success with the new versions of Appian & JBoss.

Can you provide some more information about what types of errors you are getting?

Owen --
You know what these JBoss errors look like ... the gist of it is:
-- Failed to start service jboss.module.service."deployment.suite.ear"
-- Exception in service jboss.module.service."deployment.suite.ear"
-- Failed to load module: deployment.suite.e
-- Exception: Error loading module from D:\\Appian\\bin\\jboss\\jboss-as-7.1.1
... that sort of thing. The actual error is significantly more obtuse and I can post it if you'd like to see it.

Further up in the application server log, there's a section where it validates the datasource connections. If you're having trouble with the datasources - you would see specific errors there.
Have you followed the directions and examples here:

Thanks, Owen --
Oh, yeah. Followed those directions ... worked with Appian tech support for literally hours (maybe 20+) in a valiant, though failed, attempt ... until Appian decided to to fall back on the statement that they support DB2, but not iSeries DB2. We tried everything in every possible combination we could think of.
That is the first "ERROR" in the log. Further up I see "INFO ... Bound data source jdbc/AppianPrimaryDS & jdbc/AppianSecondaryDS" which are mysql. That's successful. But I don't see anything else.

Nope. And to say we're frustrated would be minimizing our reaction at this point. I'd be happy to share some of our config files with you if you think it would help you folks get v6.6 connected.
Let me know and tell me which files you'd like to see.
