Hi everyone, I am new to Appian, and this is my first question! What is the difference between "Create Folder" type and "Knowledge Center" type under "New" -> "Create Folder" at Build tab of Appian Designer? How to decide which one fit better for an application? Thanks!

Hi, welcome to the Appian World, we usually create a folder of "Knowledge Center" type to save files and documents so you can share files and collaborate on them, either within a process, or through a portal page.

This is not true. The Knowledge Center object should be considered as a top-level container for Folders Only. It is possible in some instances to (accidentally) move or copy documents directly into a knowledge center, however this causes undesired side-effects. But in general, it is still absolutely untrue that KC is a "type of folder" to "save files and documents".
From the Appian Developer Wrap Up: "Knowledge centers are containers for folders and their files. They can only contain document folders and documents."
Then that is badly worded, because the implication that KCs can inherently contain files, directly, under normal circumstances, is false, regardless of what the Wrap Up says. If you can link me to where it said that, I'd like to submit feedback that they should fix it.
