Is there currently any way to reset the password of a user. I already read the discussions. I know of the personalization plugin and it's recent changes. I want to provide a process to the IT department so they are able to perform their processes without having to use the designer environment. Creating users, group management etc. is easy to implement. Appian best practice is to create processes for administration. But for password reset this currently seems not possible.

Stefan, this might seem a little obscure but I seem to recall that using the add user node, with the input of an existing user name and a password, actually resets the user's password to the one provided. I could be wrong, but it might be worth a quick PoC?

I actually think I might be wrong as this may have been whilst importing users from csv... but it definitely reset the password for a user that already existed.

Apologies yes, this was in the import users smart service. As far as I know the personalisation plugin is the only way to reset passwords outside of the designer.

There was a change password smart service in older versions of Appian. If you can get get a hold of this smart service you can migrate it to your current environment.

Thanks. As I already wrote, I am aware of the plugin. But this functionality has been removed recently. And I do not want to deploy an old plugin to a new customer environment. I also know there is as "Forgot password" link on the login page. But maybe can Eduardo give a statement as he created the plugin and also removed this function.

Can you deploy Change Password Expressionable smart service and try it? It is part of Personalization Utilities.

...except from the Personalization Utilities description page, it looks as if the functionality has been removed from there as well:
'Description
Updated 02/09/2015
- Removed "Change Password Expressionable" in compliance with the product deprecation of the "Change Password" smart service'

Stefan - I have a similar use case and I'd love an update on this. Have you found a solution for your use case? Thanks!

Hi Jeremia. There is no OOTB solution for this. I kind of understand this decision but I would still prefer it to be able to built a process for user management including passwort reset.
