We are using the PDF Tools plug-in to convert a PDF to a PNG (or JPG) to allow it to be displayed on a record dashboard. When we convert the PDF to an image, several of our PDF data fields get moved. Has anyone experienced this type behavior?

Better example...with more data fields. We do have one set of fields that are rotated 90deg...could this cause the issue? The PDF is generated correctly

I am not sure if it is the same issue, but I have had this issue with certain fonts. You will have to look at the libraries that it has included and any developer notes that are posted on the forums for those.
Sorry not more helpful, but wanted to bring this topic up in case it helps.

Definitely ensuring fonts if at all possible are standard fonts. See the attached wikipedia article. I do not typically reference them, but this is a decent article on fonts.

v3? Field moving could also be the way the PDF is setup. Is it a fillable PDF that you are converting? Note that the plugin uses a library called PDFBox to do this conversion and that library is not known to be the most stable in the Java world. It would also help to know what version of the plugin you are using.

The Java libraries used in that plugin are very old. I rewrote it to include new versions. With new versions rendering is much improved.

Agree with Stefan ^^ we have re-written these plugins to use the beta PDFBox 2.0 version and have had a fair amount of success (although there is still the occasional issue).

I have a plugin laying around I could provide. It can also render big document with many pages which the old one crashes.
