#PDF doc from Template, I am using this smart service to create a PDF document

#PDF doc from Template, I am using this smart service to create a PDF document (I created a PDF form using Adobe LiveCycle) which saves the pv!FirstName and pv!LastName into the newly created PDF. when I type English characters, there is no problem and the created PDF file displays the values correctly but, when I type Chinese characters for name and last name , the created pdf file form display is black... strange... so i click the text field on pdf file and when i click it shows the chinese characters.. when I click on any other field in the pdf document, the chinese text magically disappears until i click on it and it goes on and on...
has anyone encountered such problem? can you please help me? any ideas? thanks in advance

Hi Lily,
I can recreate a similar end result. If I use the smart service, English will appear fine. The form field with Chinese character will have the characters, but not display. It is as if the characters were white-colored; so to the eye, the field appears to be blank. However, I can copy the field contents and paste the characters successfully into a text editor.
This problem seems related to the PDF software, as opposed to Appian. I cannot write Chinese characters at all into my instance of Adobe Reader. Please check if you have all the Chinese language packages necessary for your PDF software.
