if you implement an in-process solution to handle task reassignment, it becomes fairly easy to check that the reassignment target is a member of the same group as the manager in question.

If you go to the assignment tab of a task node, you will see a link that says "Set re-assignment privileges for assignees". If you click on that, one of the options for er-assignment privileges is "Can reassign the task within a pool of assignees."

ohh great the first suggestion works.
@ Priyal - the client wants the reassignment only within his/her group. They do not want the option to reassign outside the group itself. They don't want to see that option to restrict that functionality. They also don't want a manager to accept task originally assigned outside his/her group.

Can I ask, exactly where can you specify who this "Pool of assignees" is? I can't find any traces of this in the documentation or on-screen when you make the radio box selection
