Would appreciate any help in understanding if it is possible to configure the Send Email smart service to make use of an externally generated HTML or .DOCX file as the email body.
In our environment we use a separate document generation tool to manage our templates and build the email content. We want to use this output as the email body instead of an HTML template maintained within Appian.
thanks

you can use it as attachments right?
Hi, no, we need the main body of the email to use the provided HTML content as an input. It would be a really bad customer experience to receive a clunky looking email with hardly anything in it and expect the customer to open an attachment to then view the main message. :)
Hi Brandon,
Just a few more questions, is the environment you are using to build the email content within Appian itself? If so, you can use a Web API to expose your generated template to a URL, and then fetch your HTML template within the "Insert An Expression" option within the rich text editor in the Send E-Mail smart service.
Insert An Expression
My suggestion is do define a static almost empty HTML template with a single placeholder which will later be filled with the HTML coming from your external source. This way you can have completely dynamic email content.
umarahmedov may be he can use INSERT WEB LINK just 2 options before INSERT EXPRESSION. External links can also be added, but statically.
thanks both. will try these.
