I imagine each column of the grid is an element in your pv, for example:

pv!person.firstName, pv!person.lastName, pv!person.SSN, pv!person.DOB, pv!person.address, and so on.

With a report you can do the same thing, but you have to define each report column. Now, for the counts aspect you would group the "type" which you want to be aggregated:

You can define whether a column links to further data in the report as well. See the following for more information:

I created a report where each element in the pv is a column. The report does not look like a grid in the quick task. My problem is not drilling down or linking to the detail, it’s what the detail is. I have read all the wiki documentation on creating reports. The generated detail report has each row that contains all the pv data for a process and then each cell contains all the elements for each row ie each cell is an array of elements. How do I represent each row as one row like the quick task grid in the process?

Can I assume there is no way to create a report based on pv created by custom smart node CDT that looks like a grid on an input task? Anyone?

The report shows the pv data in one cell vs. in its own cell like a grid because the report is an aggregation of all the process instances. There is no way to have a process report appear in the same way as a grid from a task. There is a function in the html display functions ncolumntable which you can use, but you would display this on a process dashboard as opposed to the report.

I created a customDashboard for process. Added a dynamic web content channel. How do you get process variables available in expression editor for content editor? I tried use context, don't use context, with a process model, with a process, no process variables.

I had to delete the custom dashboard, recreate and expression with htmlDisplayFunctions ncolumntable. Once that was saved, I am able to view and modify channel.

Once published, the context is lost for the proess. How do I keep the context?

Kim, if you modify the process instance dashboard (and create a custom dashboard), then when you add a channel use the following for context:

ContextContext: Use default context

Since you have created it as a custom dashboard for the process, then the default context is the process instance.

I am able to get the pvs to show the first time the default context is used. Add an expression with the shown pvs. Then save and publish. Edit the channel. Edit the expression. The process pv tab is no longer available. But if I can edit the existing expression and referfence other pvs, they just aren't showing ithe editor.

Make sure that you are in a process instance dashboard vs. process model dashboard. When you say the process variables tab is not available, are there no variables or is that section not showing? I have seen other customers complain about not seeing the process variables, but they were in fact in a process model dashboard which will not have the process variables.
