110120 - no subject - Since last week, ALL the process names A

Since last week, ALL the process names AND task names have started appearing as three question marks '???'.
this obviously makes it virtually impossible to search for certain processes and tasks.
At the same time, the search process model functionality is not working anymore either.
Has anyone experienced this behaviour before?
See screenshot for an example

It seems somebody changed the locale of your system to en_US

Login as a System Administrator and navigate to System - Data Management - Internationalization Settings and make sure they are all configured correctly.
If they are correct then in Designer click on your user name at the top right corner, this will open your user-specific preferences make sure the language is en_GB if that's the one you should be using.

Thanks Eduardo, that doesn't seem to be the case.
See attached screenshot, the system seems to still be set to EN_GB
Is there anywhere else that i can change the language setting maybe?

1. Is that happening for all instances?
2. Click on any of those instances (in the checkbox) and select "Edit Process" - File - Properties, what language do you see enabled?
3. If everything looks good do the following:
---> 3.1 Stop JBoss
---> 3.2 Delete the JBoss cache:
------> For Appian 7 and older: Delete <JBOSS_HOME>\\server\\all\\work\\jboss.web\\localhost
------> For Appian 7.1 and newer: Delete <JBOSS_HOME>\\standalone\ mp
---> 3.3 Start JBoss
This will tell us whether this was a caching issue due to someone changing the language to en_US then back to en_GB

1. It's happening for 99% of instances: in the last 200 processes, 2 seems to be showing the process name correctly. However, if i open these processes, the currently active task names for this process also do not display correctly and only show as ???
2. English (GB)
3. We will try this after CoB today. Will keep you informed tomorrow morning.
Thanks for your help.

Were you able to confirm whether a restart of the application server deleting the cache helped?
Another solution could be:
1. Stop both JBoss and Appian gracefully
2. Re-create analytics by deleting the content of the following directories (if you have more than 3 analytics please add them to the list)
\\server\\process\\analytics\\0000\\*.kdb
\\server\\process\\analytics\\0001\\*.kdb
\\server\\process\\analytics\\0002\\*.kdb
3. Start the environment
4. Wait for the CPU usage to go down to let Analytics finish recreating and populating report data.

Sorry Eduardo, in the excitement of your previous solution working, I forgot about confirming this :) Yes restarting JBoss and deleting the temp items has fixed this issue.
Thanks!
