Hi,

We've noticed some strange behaviour with the user function and basic users trying to access it. We have an expression: if(isnull(pv!CaseManager)," ",user(pv!CaseManager,"firstName")& " "&user(pv!CaseManager,"lastName")) which works absolutely fine if there is an administrator logged in. However, when logging in with a basic user account we are seeing the username instead.

Is there some sort of permissions issue here? And if so, why aren't we seeing the username twice?

Hi Eduardo,

That's great, thanks for that. It mentions that an application can restrict visibility of users - so it's at application level? Where can this be configured?

You can manage it globally through custom.properties (search for this property in custom.properties.example for more information)

conf.security.user.DEFAULT_VISIBILITY=

Or per user forum.appian.com/.../Modify_User_Security_Smart_Service.html
