Capture delete row event in portal editable grid

I think not directly. But you can build the difference of data-in to data-out after the form is submitted. This is how I did it in the past.

Thanks stefan for quick answer, But i am not submitting form. In my case row represent the holder for permit and we have share percent as one column. whenever user removes the holder from table share percent gets recalculated.
I can mimic the delete function of row using selection and delete button, but functionality is already on production and we are looking for minimal changes

@ajinkyab277, we can capture the index of the row and and we remove the row. Or we can use javascript to do the same.

Ajynkya the below javascript might fulfill your requirment.

I tried below things
1. Added code snipled given by you in java script file
2. Called removeRowFromGrid function on form load , with gird ID and hardcoded value as 1 for row index(assuming we can get that using another code)
3. But it is not doing anything.

Note:-I am using OOB Delete feature of portal grid.

Ok, Ajynkya. This script will work on OOD delete feature.
Do you add "importScript("/plugins/servlet/FormsExt.js");" in form for load event?
If you do have this script, the above snipet may not work.

@ajinkyab To the best of my knowledge, the problem could be that, the code will be executed while loading the form. For instance let's say we have five rows in the grid. And if we use the function removeRowFromGrid("grid2",3) in the 'load' event of form, this surfaces the grid with the contents of four rows by removing the second row. So I would like to suggest to see the contents prior to invoking the function in the on load, and then compare the contents post invoking the function. Anyhow I have tested the same and it seems okay to me.

I hope that you are aware that the grid index starts from 0.

@venkannab The statement 'importScript("/plugins/servlet/FormsExt.js");' is related to usage of Forms API, a shared component that existed some time ago. As we aren't using any functions from 'Forms API' in removeRowFromGrid(), we don't need this statement at all. Also usage of this statement leads to an error if 'Forms API' plugin doesn't exist in the Appian environment.

@ajinkyab With regards to capturing the delete event, you may do something as follows and hope it might give you an idea:

Where as, removeRowFromGrid() mentioned above can be used when you want to remove a row from the grid at any point of time.

Yes we can easily grab that as we are using dynamic link field for removing a row from a grid. So we can save removed value in same type of input from which we are creating that grid. you can use following expression as a reference
