Moving from on premise to cloud instance of Appian. I see a post indicating that the send mail is already installed on the cloud. Is the ability to receive email to start a process also already configured? If so, how do we review this configuration and can we setup aliases like we can in an on-premise install?...

Regarding your question about aliases, these are currently not supported in Appian Cloud. However, customers typically setup an account on their mail server and redirect from there to the appropriate process / process model in Appian Cloud.
That way if the ID changes for any reason, they have full control to make the appropriate changes.

Thanks Marco. I'm still not seeing the process start in my cloud instance. From the info you directed me to, I am sending an email to:processmodeluuid0004d54d-4501-8000-0d1c-680000680000@riisdev.appiancloud.com where that uuid is the uuid of a simple process model that has a start event/user input task/end event.
The start event of that process model is a Receive Message event listening for message type email. Once I send the email, I'm expecting to see that process start up. Is this not correct?
Also, do I have access to the log files when using the cloud?
Thanks for your help.

Under Process Properties --> General tab, is "allow anyone to fire events" checked? This is required to receive e-mails.

As for access to the logs, application server and Appian logs are available for users with access to the designer interface.
In the /suite/designer environment, navigate to the 'Home' tab, where you will see a link on the left navigation bar 'Access System Logs'. Application server logs are rotated every day, and the date is appended to the name of the log. Appian logs are rotated based on size.

Yes, the "allow anyone to fire events" is checked. I navigated to the logs but I don't see the application.server log or the email listener log. Any other ideas on how to trouble shoot this receive mail issue? Thanks!

I should have mentioned this in my previous post. The name of the application server log is: jboss1-stdOut.log.%DATE%, where %DATE% is the date the events took place. E.g. Today's log should be jboss1-stdOut.log.2012-05-02. As for what other things you could try, have you tried using the process modelid or sending a message to the process directly? Just to make sure e-mails are being received. Otherwise, we will need to create a support case for RIIS to troubleshoot this further.
