I have got a question on the process which gets invoked by sending an email to Appian. The sender would require an email address in the form of 'processmodeluuid0002dc06-6df8-8000-514a-010000010000@example.com'.
Can this email address be more meaningful and addresses the specific business unit or function within an organization such as hrhelpdesk@example.com or travelhelpdesk@example.com, etc.?
For instance, when sender uses hehelpdesk@example.com email address, Appian should start a relevant process for that email address.
Has anyone tried creating such email aliases on a mail server? If yes, what's the procedure for Appian cloud environments?
Thanks in advance.

This is not currently possible for cloud environments. However, depending on your use case, you may be able to use the process model id instead of the process model uuid, with the former being potentially easier to read and remember. Please see

for further details.

Thanks Eliot. This is much closer to what I expected. But still, I would not like to see any number in the email address.

Routing alias only applies to On-premise though.

One good option, if you have your own mail server (such as at example.com), could be to create an inbox "help@example.com" on your mail server and simply set up the mailbox to forward mail to "processmodeluuid@yourappiansite.com". In fact, this can be set up with most email accounts, whether they are hosted by you or not.

@Eliot: is this still not possible for cloud environments?

You can setup a mailbox with a rule to forward certain emails to "processmodeluuid@yourappiansite.com". This is transparent to your end users and still benefits from the feature.
