Export Multiple tables into Document
christopherg753

Hello All,
What is the best recommended way to export multiple tables, withing the same SAIL form into a single document. Word, PDF, and/or Excel? If Excel, how can we export each table into a new page within the same document? Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: It would have to go into a cloud Instance. Keep that in mind. Thanks!

Hi Christopher,
You'll want to use the Excel Tools Shared Component at
forum.appian.com/.../summary.
You can use the Export CDT to Excel Smart Service to insert data from your SAIL form into Excel. To write across multiple sheets/pages, you will need to use this node multiple times (once for each page), specifying your output document from the previous node as the one to overwrite while selecting a new page on which to write the data.
Thanks,
Lucas

Have you tried this plugin? I have read the documentation but it doesn't explain well how to achieve this resilt

Hi Marco,
After recreating your issue from the other post, I believe the problem is being caused by passing pv!output_document as the Document_to_overwrite in the second node. I was able to get data to write to two separate sheets by passing in pv!output_document as the Excel_base_template for the second node but leaving the Document_to_overwrite input blank on this node.
This approach will end up creating two excel documents (one for each node), so the second document will contain the entirety of the data.
Thanks,
Lucas

Thanks Lucas it works, the only problem is that by doing so, and having 20 different sheets on the excel, i have to create 20 different Excel and only the last one is useful. Have you an idea on how to create only the last one or how to delete the other one generated?

Hi Marco,
From my understanding of this plugin, it is forced to create a new document for each node, so I don't know of a way to write to 20 different sheets without creating 20 excel files in the process. My suggestion would be to use the Delete Document node to delete the first 19 when you have your final version. It's somewhat cumbersome having to use so many nodes, but that should get the job done.
Thanks,
Lucas
