#portal report : Is there any way we can disable/hide the "Filter" toolbar from old portal default "My Task" report. Its a default page and the only option i get in the page for my tasks reports is to "Make it my start page". The problem we face is that many times random business user adds and applies a filter and saves the report and other people stop seeing their report properly due to the filter applied.
and in advance: Yeah yeah, we are still using portal for old portal applications :)

The filter toolbar can be hidden by unchecking the "Show as Toolbar" option in Report Options -> Filters, however the filters cannot be disabled completely (they will still be available from the Filters dropdown on the main report toolbar). However, the option to save filters to a report is only available to administrators, and not basic users. Therefore you should ensure that administrators are aware of the implications of having the associated permissions. If 'random business users' are administrators, you may want to review your user roles/permissions.

Hey Tom, thanks for replying, show as a toolbar is for adding additional filters in the report. I was talking about the toolbar above it, which as option to save, save as a copy, export...etc. I have attached a screenshot for reference.

to add one more point, this toolbar is available to basic user as well, so they can edit and save it which will affect all the users, I want to disable this, so it won't be available to end user.

Which version of Appian are you in? Basic users should only have the option to save a copy.

I can confirm when logged in as a basic user (whether that user is a designer or not), the user can't directly save changes to the My Tasks report - see attached. In your environment is your user a basic user or administrator?

Hey Tom, thanks for the attachment, is the attachment from a basic user? If yes, then I can see both Edit link & Save icon and I am talking about disabling the same.

Yes, this is from a basic user. It is a little unclear but the icon you see is the 'save a copy' icon (if you compare with your screenshot you will see the save icon is absent). If a user selects save a copy, it does not overwrite the default report and will not interfere with the my tasks report for other users. Similarly with the Edit link, it still requires changes to be saved, which can only be by 'save a copy'. Therefore the solution is to check that your administrators are aware that saving changes to a default report will modify the report for other users.

Is the test user actually able to save modifications to the default report?
