Hi @forrestr, I'm looking into setting up FitNesse on RedHat Linux but the component package only comes with a start.bat script...did you simply run the java commands to start it or did you create a custom start script for it to work?

right i just ran java -jar fitnesse.jar , i was thinking about making a shell script but i have not gotten around to it yet. Have not had any issues thus far running Fitnesse on Appian from Linux.

Thanks! I ended up stealing the java command from the .bat file to start it:

java -jar lib/fitnesse-standalone.jar -p 8980 -d /appian/fitnesse/ -e 0 -f configs/custom.properties

The issue I have now is that tests don't execute as they struggle to find the browser drivers:

__EXCEPTION__:java.lang.IllegalStateException: The driver executable does not exist: /appian/fitnesse/null\\lib\\drivers\\chromedriver.exe

It seems to want to mix up linux directory notation with windows but I can't find where that's set. I updated the custom.properties but it didn't seem to take.

Hi. I am trying to use Fitnesse with Jenkins in Centos. i am using XVFB plugin. I have done the following configuration
1. Installed Xvfb in Centos
2. Installed jenkins in Centos with the XVFB plugin, Fitnesse Plugin.
3. Have the Finesse for Appian Shared Component in Centos.
4. Please find the attached snapshots for Xvfb and Job Build Environment configuration in the Jenkins. I am getting No Display found error. Please find the attached Jenkins Console log and FItnesse error log attached. Kindly any one help me to identify issue.

@shanmugapriyab The fitness error seems to indicate a problem with the selenuim web driver in firefox you may want to do as described in this post and try chrome or downgrade depending on your version /search?q=OriginalPostID-220607. Also have you been able to run a successful fitness test outside of Jenkins?

Hi Forrestr, i did a fresh installation of the automatedtesting shared component. As suggested i checked the version of firefox. Its Mozilla Firefox 38.5.0. As suggested i tried to run the test outside Jenkins. When i try to test the LoginTest that comes along with the shared components i am getting the error as
org.openqa.selenium.TimeoutException: Timed out after 30 seconds waiting for presence of element located by: By.xpath: //form[@id = 'loginForm']/descendant::input[contains(@class, 'btn')]

@shanmugapriyab so we know its fitnesse and not jenkins or XVFB. I know that there were some changes in the latest version i would check the custom.properties file located in the configs folder and make sure the default paths for testing.home and firefox.browser.home are correct. Also are you getting any behavior out of the browser? is it opening a browser window and just timing out while logging in or at some point in the appian form? I would also check the permissions on the TESTING_HOME folder and make sure the user running Fitnesse has RWX permissions.

Also make sure to reverify the Appian URL is entered correctly in the setup file, ie dev.appian.com and other setup properties as well

Hi Forrestr, I cross verified the folder permission, URL, home directory path. When i Run the LoginTest, its not opening a new browser. and the test case is marked as failed.
