we have process model process customer details, with sub proc- Transfer data CDT. Processes are chained. So user can go back to earlier interface/Task anytime. When user starts the process, he receives task-A- clicks next , then sub proc- Transfer data CDT started and Task B is assigned. When user goes back to Task -A from Task-B, he/she receives following error message.
"The process “Process Customer details” has been deleted by user1234.
Message: The sub-process “Transfer data CDT” cannot be deleted due to permissions. "
We are not deleting process in our process model.. not sure why this error is coming up. Can anyone please help. Thanks in advance.

Hi, assuming you are using the option "Allow users to step back to this node from the next chained activity", unfortunately this is not available when there is a sub process between the 2 user input tasks. Due to these types of restrictions, most practitioners here handle navigation manually by saving button press values into a process variable, then utilizing a decision node to determine where to route the process based on that variable.

Who is the subprocess running as? What is the security of the model? Is the subprocess a system node (no tassigned to a person)? What is the data management setting of the subprocess?
Just a few things I would start with to understand what is happening.

Hey Christineh. Thanks for replying. User is running process as viewer. she has viewer access to process model. surprisingly we dn receive this timeout in Test but only in Prod environment. Subprocess has only 4 script tasks, it Run as whoever started the process. data management setting is default-"Use system default (currently: auto-archive processes 7 days after completion or cancellation) "
Not sure how to check if it is a system node.

Are those data management settings on the parent process, or the sub process? In your original message you mention "Process Customer Details has been deleted" - which sounds like the parent process here, assuming that is not deleted at this time since the user is remaining at Task A?
Also, is this setting checked on your sub process (Other tab)? "Delete previously completed/cancelled instances."

The setting is unchecked for all processes on (Other tab)? "Delete previously completed/cancelled instances."
yes data management setting is same for parent and sub process
Task A is outside of parent process, it is another process which calls "Process Customer Details" process that has sub-proc call

They key here may be in the Process Customer Details node (process) configuration. Are there any Execution Options configured (Other tab) for the Process Customer Details node/sub? It sounds like something is deleting that process when a user backs up to Task A, then the sub-sub process is having an issue when the parent (first sub) is deleted.

hmm.. we have deadlines as configured below for "process customer details"
The deadline for all processes is 7 days after the process is started.
but enable deadlines option is not checked though.

That should be fine, deadlines would not remove the process anyway. The question here is how/why is the Process Customer Details process deleting itself, if data management is set to archive after 7 days. Can you confirm the process is deleting as soon as the user steps back to Task A?
