Question

Administrator User

Hello there,

I have a question about the "Administrator" user. As far as I know it is a super user that is not logged in the Appian logs and for this reason the user does not have access to the admin console.

But, can the user access everything else? It is not listed in the Users section. How can I know what is the password of this user?

Also another question, comes the Adminsitrator user with every Appian installation out of the box?

Many thanks!

See https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/20.4/Windows_Installation_Guide.html#sign-in-to-appian. The out-of-the-box, temporary password is admin.

    Yes

The out-of-the-box, temporary password is admin.

Notice that that's true starting with 20.1. If you're running 19.4 or older, you set the administrator account as part of the post-install steps. See docs.appian.com/.../Post-Install_Configurations.html.

Thanks Carlos, I wonder now if the user "Administrator" exists in the client as it is not listed in the Users section. We dont have a passwords.properties file.

I have read that in old versions the Administrator user is created if there are no other Admin users in the system, so I dont know if the user "Administrator" exists. Can I check it somehow? Our customer needs a list of all super users.
