Hi everyone, I am currently working through the Appian Certified Business Analyst learning pathway and have run into a technical issue. When I first joined Appian Community, I was assigned a workspace (I also received the confirmation email). However, I no longer appear to have access to any workspace, which means I can't continue with the hands-on exercises in the learning pathway. I have already contacted Appian Support, but I haven't received a response yet, so my progress has come to a halt. Has anyone experienced this issue before or knows how it can be resolved? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hello, A user has reported the following error in the attached screenshot. I tried to open tomcat from the system logs to analyze the error but I could not. Can you please let me know how to resolve this error? is it in the process model/instance or somewhere else? Thank you Raj
We are building a single Appian system, but we plan to divide it into multiple applications based on responsibilities and business domains. For example: ・Application A・Application B・Business Common Application・Common Components Application・Administration Application Our environment is Appian Cloud, not an on-premises installation. Multiple development teams and vendors will work in the same Appian development environment. To prevent developers from unintentionally modifying objects owned by another team, we would like to control which applications each developer account is allowed to develop. Our expected behavior is: ・Developers assigned to Application A can create and modify objects belonging to Application A.・They can reference shared objects from the Common Application when necessary.・They cannot modify objects belonging to Application B or other applications.・Developers assigned to Application B should have the same restrictions for Application B.・System administrators may modify
Hi team, We're struggling the the disk usage of our training environment as it's reaching its full capacity, there are several applications that can be deleted completely. However, there's no bulk deletion of applications including its contents, out-of-the-box. Do you know any easier way to perform these deletions? P.D.: We would like to delete the DB objects (tables, views, etc) related to these applications as well. Thank you in advance! Regards, Tomás
Hi everyone, I hope this is okay to post here! I'm a certified Appian Developer currently looking for new job opportunities and not getting much traction yet. A bit about me: Appian Developer Certified Currently preparing for Senior Developer Certification [3 years] experience with Appian Open to full-time, contract, or remote roles If anyone knows of openings, is hiring, or can refer me to the right people, I would really appreciate it! Feel free to comment or send me a direct message. Thank you in advance
You have set up SAML for single sign-on (SSO) in your cloud environment. Which three options could you enable in the Attribute Mapping section of the Admin Console to sync with a user's profile in Appian? (Choose three.) Options: A- 'Create new users upon sign in.' B- 'Group Membership Synchronization.' C- 'Remember Me on web and mobile.' D- 'Reactivate deactivated users upon sign in.' E- 'Update user attributes upon sign in.' Can anyone help to get the correct of above question?
Hi Appian Community, I’m currently investigating Appian internal errors (APNX) in an Appian Cloud environment. I found a KB-1107 that references ErrorCode*.properties files under a path like: <APPIAN_HOME>/ear/suite.ear/resources/text/java/com/appiancorp/suiteapi/common/exceptions The issue is that, even though I have administrator permissions in my Cloud environment, I can’t find any way to access that error code list or those files. I’d like to ask if anyone in the community can help clarify this: Is there any customer-accessible list of internal error codes for Appian Cloud environments? Is there any way to review those codes without filesystem access to the server? Has anyone worked with those property files or found a useful reference for support/troubleshooting? When Appian only shows an issue identifier, is there any public reference to interpret or map it? I’m not trying to expose anything sensitive, just trying to understand the correct
Appian Experts, I have a question regarding AD Synchronization. We have our SAML setup to "Update user attributes upon sign in". This works perfectly fine when a user is Added/Removed from a specific entitlement in AD that is mapped to a group on Appian and that users logs in to Appian. However, the issue arises if the users is removed from an entitlement in AD group and he never logs in again to Appian. The user remains part of the group and get task assigned till someone manually removes the user from the group in Appian. I am pretty sure a lot of us here in the Community has encountered this situation. Can any suggest an automated way to Sync the users in AD to the groups in Appian w/o logging in. Thank you, Janaki Ram
I am unable to log in using Basic User accounts in my Appian Cloud environment, while admin accounts are working fine. I have verified that the users are active and have the required group memberships. Password reset was also attempted, but the issue persists. Has anyone faced a similar issue or can suggest what configurations or logs I should check? Thanks.
Hello, We experienced an issue where an application deployed to the production environment did not work correctly. After investigation, we found that the process failed because a required user group was missing. We further checked deletion.log and found that the deployment service account appears to have deleted the group.Log excerpt: 2026-05-29 10:18:57,597 [http-nio-8080-exec-28] INFO com.appiancorp.common.logging.DeleteLogger - Successful deletion of objects: id=3126; types=group; names=["xxxx"]; deleted by user=[xxxx]. However, we could not find any deployment record corresponding to this timestamp. My question is:Is there a way to trace the actual operation performed by the deployment user account, even if there is no deployment record at that time? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hi , We are running Appian 25.3.690.0 on Kubernetes and need the pluginuploader-1.0.0.jar plugin file. Our original dev environment used it as an init container to pre-install plugins. Can you provide the download link or the file?" Could not find any version of "pluginuploader" jar file, could you someone help me on this please. Quicker help is much appreciated. Regards Srinivas
Hi, my use case here is while managing a bunch of test users, I want to be able to determine for each of those test users, if their passwords have expired or going to expire so that we can display it as a warning to whomever is managing those test accounts. As such, I'm wondering if there's a way to be able to query information from system logs into a process/interface or be able to query admin console settings information? Thanks in advance
When user logs in using SAML, they face 403 access denied error. We checked the users ID and they have the required access levels. When checked on tomcat-stdout logs we see the following issue 'Cannot request SAML Assertion for SBAF Authorize Click since user is not valid for SBAF'. Any leads on this?
Hi, Is there any log from Appian to see when a specific user was added to a group and by whom for all the existing groups? Note: I understand we can have a workarounds to track these changes by building custom functionality but I'm particularly looking to see if there is any default functionality / log that I can refer to.
Having an issue when attempting to configure cmgt studio portal module.Errors are: Incompatible function used. Refactor the portal object precedents to only use functions compatible with portals. Incompatible functions will not work in a published portal. The following precedents use an incompatible function: CMGT_UTIL_SystemTimezone [usertimezone]. Incompatible plug-in(s) detected Refactor the portal object precedents to only use plug-ins compatible with portals. Using incompatible plug-ins can cause the published portal to error. Precedent(s) containing incompatible plug-in(s): CMGT_Document_Sub_UploadDocument [Content Tools], CMGT_UTIL_LoadBrandingMap [Appian Solutions Plugin]Also CMGT_Portal_Case_IntakeForm is missing from the portal module, is this a known issue?
I am deploying a package to PROD in Appian. One object got depkoyed while other couldn't as deployment completed with errors. When I checked the log, it said the particular object is open. But thing is the object isn't open anywhere. Besides, i also logged out and logged in once to check but still, deployment was failing for the particular object and it is saying the object is being edited by me.
Hey Folks, I am using an excel tools plugin for converting HTML to CSV. Now, there is a new requirement for converting PDF to CSV, and walking through the discussions and searches I haven't found any good match or solution. Can anyone help me with this? It would be highly appreciated.
We’re experiencing recurring high memory usage in our Appian Cloud DEV environment that is leading to emergency restarts. This typically occurs outside of normal development hours, when there is little to no active user activity. As part of troubleshooting, we have: Cleared all processes that had stopped due to exceptions Removed older versions of process models and interfaces Reviewed for obvious runaway process instances Reviewed guidance in KB-2011 Despite this cleanup, the memory spikes continue. Has anyone encountered similar behavior in a DEV environment with low user activity? If so: Were scheduled processes, integrations, or unattended background jobs the root cause? Are there specific logs or metrics in Appian Cloud that are most helpful for identifying memory drivers? Does exporting and removing older, inactive applications from DEV meaningfully reduce memory consumption, or is memory primarily driven by actively executing objects? Any guidance on deep
We switch our primary timezone from GMT to GMT+1 in the Appian admin console during UK daylight saving time. In the application, we display all dates using a text() function, like this: if( a!isNotNullOrEmpty(ri!dateTime), text(ri!dateTime, "dd/MM/yyyy hh:mm AM/PM"), "" ) However, as soon as the timezone is updated in the admin console, the displayed date values shift according to the new timezone. This causes the date and time shown in the UI to change even though the stored datetime has not changed. Is there any way to keep the displayed date consistent regardless of timezone changes?
Hi, in our environment the IdP changed some usernames from lowercase to uppercase. Appian configured for SAML authentication with "Retain Casing" option, returns error code 401. Do you have any experience that the configuration option at docs.appian.com/.../SAML_for_Single_Sign-On.htmlcan resolve the issue, and can these changes be made hot or do some services need to be restarted? Thanks!
I have 3 doubts in Appian environment. Can you help me, please? 1. In Appian, can you work with branches associated with process versions, similar to GitHub? 2. Is it possible to have two versions of the same process running in production and choose at any time which one the application should use? 3. If a new version of a process is deployed to production, can migrations be performed for the processes that are active at that moment? Thanks in advance.
Hello, I need to change/update user last name. Can it be done through the backend database? Thanks, Raj
I am trying to replace the existing document with new document but I'm getting this error . I'm using the primary key of the each record as target ,I configured the update as record action, and I cannot delete the existing record because that Id is used as main request id since the record is created with document upload.
Hi team, I have a question. I have an issue concerning the user license count and was under the impression that some users may have been inadvertently reactivated without anyone manually doing it. Since, we use LDAP sync, if a user is re-enabled in the Active Directory (AD), the next LDAP sync process in Appian will detect this change and automatically reactivate the user account in Appian. Anyone have any experience with this issue on how we can stop LDAP from reactivating users?
Good morning. I am trying to deploy an application that contains records synchronized with integration. This is the first deployment of the application, and I am using the compare and deploy option. When creating the package, all elements of the application are included, but not the records synchronized with integration. The records are in the application, as are the calls to the synchronization services. However, these elements are not included. I have tried adding them to the package after the option appears, but when I check again, it still indicates that the elements are not included. What could be the problem, and how could it be solved? Thank you very much and best regards. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
