Generally basic users should not be given access to backend database unless you want to create a "Basic" user account to be used as Appian designer instead of system administrator. For a basic user to access Cloud database, user needs to be added to one of the Database Appian custom groups depending on what type of access is needed for them to be able to access tables using database UI.
