custom.properties updates are not reflecting

I have made changes to the custom.properties file, specifically:
appian.feature.selfManagedMonitoring=true.

I validated and deployed the changes, and also restarted the server after deployment. However, upon checking the configure.log file, the configuration changes are not being reflected.
