Question

Vulnerability Scanning of Appian Code

Is it possible to use a third party vulnerability scanning software to scan Appian code for vulnerabilities? I saw a similar question asked 7 years ago and the answer was no and just wanted to verify that nothing has changed in that time.

I need to scan the Appian code with a vulnerability scanner.

Sure, but for what purpose? Memory leaks are not really a thing in Appian.

Not looking for anything specific, I just need to scan it to satisfy a customer requirement.

I do not know of any code scanner that would understand Appian code. So I think the answer to your initial question still is: No.

    For additional support, you can also use Appian's AQuAMan application on the AppMarket to conduct code reviews and ensure code quality.

    • Automate 80% of the Peer Review checklist items
    • Register Appian applications and define common standards across that application
    • Run a suite of tests across an application patch
    • Report on failed tests
    • Copy tests between applications
