How do I know if IDP is installed? How do you open it?

The guides don't say anywhere how to open IDP.
Perhaps it's not installed on our instance and it would be obvious from the main menu.
Where does IDP normally appear? In the top right main menu?
Are there permissions associated with it?
Our system administrator is on vacation and I'm not sure if I just can't find it because I'm learning how to use Appian, or if it's not installed.
