Send Email Smart service issue - Health Check Report

Hi Community,

In our current implementation, we're using the Send E-Mail smart service in a few process models. However, the Appian Health Check report flagged this with the following message:

"Send E-Mails references a smart service that is no longer recommended for use (Send E-Mail). Please remap this node in the process model to use the latest version."

Could someone guide us on:

  • What the recommended replacement is for the deprecated Send E-Mail smart service?
  • Any best practices or migration steps we should follow while updating our process models?

Thanks.

As the message says you need to remap the node by replacing the Send E-mail node your process has, with the latest Send E-mail node pulled from the process model smart services palette . Then you can configure the node again with the same configurations as earlier!

By the which Appian version are you working on currently?

Alright! Try remapping the email nodes in all your processes and it should be fine afterwards.

Health Check might recommends remapping to the latest Send E-Mail node because, among other possibilities, newer versions might include internal parameter changes, performance improvements, or security enhancements that older nodes may not fully support.
Since this is happening for most customers, it's worth trying this change and verifying if the Health Check warning disappears.
Parallelly, open a Support ticket to confirm with the Appian team.
