Health Check Process Sizing

The Health Check for my application, for process sizing, has 3 process models that are all taking up about 16GB and 32,000 # of instances.

If I reduce the archiving from 3 days to 1 days on each process, it should cut out 10GB and about 22,000 instances.

Would doing this have any positive impact on the applications performance as a whole? Would it free up resources or processing engines in any way where I could see improvements on process models?

Right now, I'm seeing sometimes my write to data stores taking .90 ms in some cases and then in other cases, taking up to .300ms (which is too long)

For context, my prod environment has about 853,000 process a day (585,557 completed, 183,000 active)
