Maximum file size to send using email smart service

Hi all,

I have used the "Send E-Mail" smart service to send emails with attachments in my process model.  I got the error "Failed to send Email" in a process that errored out at the node "Send Email".  When I analyzed the file size I found that one of my attachments had a file size of approximately 61 MB.  What is the maximum file size allowed in Appian "Send E-Mail" smart service for attachments?

Thanks in advance.

Agreed with Stefan - fyi very very few mail servers out there will accept an email over maybe 20 megabytes at max.  Some would accept even less.

I think this is mostly restricted by the mail server the email is sent to.

Thank you, Stefan.  This issue has happened in the production environment.  So do I need to clarify with the client the maximum file size their mail server can accept? Is it entirely dependent on the mail server and not related to Appian functionality? Just to confirm.

Thank you, Mike.  Your answer was helpful for me to know the approximate file size limit for email attachments.
