Not getting correct result from output of a write data node in process model

I have a write data node in process, input is:

Process detail showing pv!originalRecords has value, but the result of update() somehow not saved to pv!updatedRecords

Can anyone advise what could be the cause?

Please check the process history to verify if the process variable is getting reset anywhere else in the process
