On Windows, Windows Key + period(.) opens the emoji keyboard so users can select emojis in paragraph field. On Mac Command + Control + Spacebar opens emoji keyboard for entering value in paragraph field. The emojis are supported to show in paragraph field without extra code effort. On Appian end, the text type variable can store the emojis as is entered by the users but use code() function to store the respective unicode characters to db for each emoji and show on front end using char() function after retrieving values from database.
It will certainly handle them. If you’re trying to store them in the database, you might want to double check that your table is set up to handle the proper level of unicode to handle the emoji you’re wanting to save (most current defaults, AFAIK, will work, but some older standards might break when trying to save extended characters to a text field.)
@shriyaj782245 I would suggest using a a!styledTextEditorField(), as it supports not only emojis but also rich text formatting features such as bold text, colors, hyperlinks, lists, and more. This provides greater flexibility for future requirements while addressing the current need for emoji support.
