Process model stuck in "Active" state but not progressing

Hi Everyone,

I'm running into an issue where one of my Appian process models stays in the "Active" state but doesn’t actually move forward past the first node. There are no errors in the logs, and all inputs look correct. It's just... stuck.

I tried canceling and redeploying, even restarting the Appian engine, but the same thing happens again. This process used to work fine a week ago  nothing significant has changed in the model.

Could this be related to a timer event or a data store node silently failing?

Thanks!

Without any relevant information, this is just guessing ...

In such situations, I first check the tomcat stdout log file.

Could you give us more information? Are you using MNI? Has the process worked in the past?

Could you share a screenshot of the process model and show us exactly which node this is happening on?
Need more context to help you better.

Few more details would help us in identifying potential causes. Along with what others have already asked/suggested, are there any conditions in the start node of the process? Is it happening for 'all' instances of a specific process model or just few random instances of the process model?

For just one process model?  Nothing like it in any other process model?

What happens if you copy the node in question to a new/empty/blank process model, by itself, and attempt to run that process?  Does it stick the same way, does it work, does it error, etc?
