Publish process models to latest version when importing an application

When I import a full application from dev to test environment, how do I make sure that my process models will be published to the latest version? Is there any special line that I have to add to the properties file so that all my process models will be published to the latest version? or is this done by default on every import?

When you are importing a application Appian gonna import the the latest published process model. If there isn't a published version exist it's gonna import draft version.

Deploying Process Model Object

March 19, 2024

All the process models in my dev environment were published, but when I imported those in the test environment, some of the process models were not published, because of which I encountered some issues. That is why I wanted to know if there is any way by which I can publish all the process models forcefully?

Hello [mention:00bc648a25d4476b9c2f5a8f339f44b7:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05]

As Venky Avuluri mentioned, If your process is published in dev then, when you deploy to test it will deploy the published version as a new version in test. Most recommended is deploy into higher environments only when your process is published.

Unless until you have a drafted version it shouldn't be a problem. Can you please check if you have drafted versions or any objects that are dependent have any isssues.

Syncing Process models? I am not aware of what you are asking.

Any object in the target environment will be updated to the object in that package if the version is newer. That is the default and this cannot be configured in any way.

I also encountered the same issue,

Exported package contains Published version but while dpeloying into higher env, few of them were not published but saved as a draft.

We didn't see any issue or missing precedence for any object and import was successful. We observed this issue only when User were trying some process which are calling thos PMs.

Still not able to figure out the root cause of this.

Any suggesstion for finding the root caus [mention:a11f77a729fb4db2af76b09948583328:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05]

Investigate the export/import log files.
