Integrating a component base on a js library

Hi,

We have a requirement to integrate a component that is based on a javascript library.

The instructions given tell us to include into the consumer application page, an HTML script tag and a div tag with some specific attributes to setup the behaviour of the component. 

As far as I know, there are no other way to get this kind of integration that build a plugin, ¿is that correct?

I'm trying to establish the alternatives we have, I would like ti be sure I'm not forgetting some easy way behind.
