Reverse proxy integration

We need to integrate Appian on cloud  with an authentication web page, which works as a reverse proxy. The authentication will be done in that page and a  header interchange mechanishm will work after the authentication to pass through the HTTP traffic to Appian. Which is the best way to integrate with this authentication method and how?
