As I'm going through the Appian Developer course I have noticed that some information is missing when trying to pass the quizzes. I am completely stuck on Expressions. Is there something else I should be doing besides the Developer course?

      The courses are well designed as per my understanding .. but if you feel that is not enough its always best to have a look at the docs.appian.com > quick links, there you will find everything you need to know for becoming a developer.
