Export DSE to Excel

Hello Rahul, I don't think we have any specific limit as mentioned in the Appian documentation. Are you facing any issue with the limit while exporting?

Hi Rahul, there is a "Export Data Store Entity to Excel" smart service for export DSE to excel and i don't think there is limit while export dse to excel.

In Appian, when you export data to Excel using the Data Store Entity (DSE) export functionality, the maximum number of characters or word count that can be exported in one column of Excel depends on Excel's limitations rather than Appian's limitations.

In Excel 2007 and later versions (Excel 2007, Excel 2010, Excel 2013, Excel 2016, Excel 2019, and Excel for Microsoft 365), each cell can hold a maximum of 32,767 characters. This includes both visible text and any formatting, formulas, or other data in the cell.

However, it's important to note that extremely long text in a single cell can impact the performance of Excel, and very long text entries may not be fully visible within a cell unless you adjust the column width.

So, while Excel allows for a large number of characters in a single cell, it's a good practice to keep the text within a reasonable length to ensure readability and avoid potential performance issues. Depending on the use case, you may want to consider breaking up very long text into multiple columns or rows in your Excel export to improve readability and usability.

Appian itself doesn't impose strict character or word count limits when exporting data to Excel, but you should be mindful of Excel's capabilities and best practices for data presentation.
