Getting an error when trying to create a new child record from the parent record.

I am getting the following error when using the record action button created to create a child record that pulls the parent record ID into the child record to connect them:

An Error Has Occurred Could not cast from DC Loans to DC PrincipalLoanBalance. Details: DC Loans cannot be cast to DC PrincipalLoanBalance

I have the button and process model just like I set up a few others in another app that work fine, which I followed the example on the community app Acme Auto Solutions to get those right. Not sure what is causing this error, thoughts?
