How to find the kind of algorithm which is being used by Appian to decrypt the encrypted password before making DB connect.

Hi,

Does anyone know which process or service is decrypting the encrypted password which we are providing at password field? before connecting to database.

Just I would like to know what kind of algorithm is being used by Appian to decrypt before making the connect to DB.

I don't think that is documented anywhere. Probably best to contact your Appian rep which might be able to provide be able to connect you with the appropriate person within Appian who can answer this question.

I don't think they will answer this question. It is a matter of security. They might give you the password in some cases but not the key or algo. Why not ask the person who established this connection or ask your network admin to reset the DB's password?

I'm not sure they are asking this to be able to reverse engineer a password they forgot (at least I hope not!). This is a question that that could come up during a security assessment or audit.
