Question

Maintain the code in Git or Bitbucket or Gitlab

How to maintain the code which are designed by Appian designer ?, with All repositories support and deployment also.  Because incase delete code/objects from Appian is not possible to recover so better to keep even xml file, later can import.

In 16 years Appian projects, and > 30 developers in my team, we stay outside external code management tools, and never had an issue.

Plug it into a CI/CD and backup the code to a git repo whenever you deploy.

Maybe this would help:

You can use Appian's Automated Version Manager (AVM) to integrate with Git-based repositories such as Bitbucket or GitLab.

  • Export your Appian application or deployment packages and maintain them in your Git repository for version control and backup.
  • Use AVM to automate the process of managing deployment packages in version control.
  • For CI/CD, you can integrate Appian Deployment APIs with tools like Jenkins to automate deployments across environments.
