Hi,

We have one engineer for him "New" and "Add Existing" dropdowns are not showing when he connect to the Appian designer even though he was part of "process model creator" and "designer".

But, he was able to edit the existing objects.

Can someone help here.

Did he logged out and logged in after he was added in group?

Can you try by adding him to designer group. Also try different browser or try giving him administrator access and observe the behaviour

If we give Admin access then user was able to see those 2 dropdowns.

But, we don't want to give Admin access. We want to give just Basic User access and then Designer facility.

as others have suggested, he would need to be added in admin group in that application.

Could this be an application level security issue?

I'm guessing it has to do with security settings on the application.  Check the Application Properties, identify the groups being used for security, and then make sure your engineer is a member of either of those groups in one way or another.

This happens when the user has Viewer access on the Application Security but editor access on the objects (which allows them to edit objects).

User cannot see "New: and "Add Existing" if they have Viewer access set at the Application Security. Ensure the user has Editor Access to Application

Add the user to Group, which is mapped Application editor security
