Storing contents of Knowledge Center outside of Appian

Hi Team,

I am new to Appian and currently researching how can we store some documents collected from user uploads outside of Appian, say on a shared location on a company server. I tried reading the documentation for Integrations and Connected Systems, and followed related links, however I am still not sure I understand how can this be achieved. Any help and tips will be appreciated.
