Who Are Input-Only Users in Appian?

I’m a bit confused about the concept of Input-Only Users in Appian. Are they users who do not have an account in the Appian application, or am I misunderstanding the term?

Specifically, if a user submits information through an Appian application portal without having a user account, would they be considered an Input-Only User?

Can someone clarify this for me?
