Workday discrepancy

If today() is returning 8/9/2026(Date with Timezone)
workday(today(),10) is returning 8/21/2026(Date) This correct
workday(today(),-10) should return 7/27/2026 but its returning 7/24/2026(Date)

Please help me understand

Your today() input is Sunday, August 9. Appian immediately intercepts this and shifts the start date to the previous working day: Friday, August 7.

Adding 10 Days
Counting 10 working days forward from the new anchor of Friday, August 7:

    1 week forward (5 days) = Friday, August 14

    2 weeks forward (10 days) = Friday, August 21

Subtracting 10 Days
Counting 10 working days backward from the new anchor of Friday, August 7:

    1 week backward (5 days) = Friday, July 31

    2 weeks backward (10 days) = Friday, July 24

    Thank you so much. I was counting from August 7th. So I landed on July 27th but yes you are right

    Why should it return 7/27/2026? How do you define that?

    I was counting from August 7th but I should count from August 6th
