Certificates error PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target error

We are receiving the below error in Mail server to database, after replacing the expired server certificates with new ones in the admin console .

PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Most of the online help redirecting to update the certificates in java key store. I don't think we did something like this earlier for certificates. Any thoughts?
